In this course, students will work through six units of study that are aligned with the Pennsylvania State Standards for Reading/Writing/Listening along with National Standards. The students will experience a wide variety of literature from many backgrounds and eras. Students will embark on a journey that will challenge them to do the following: discover their individual strengths and abilities, explore the living earth, learn about goal setting, compare/contrast cultures and connections with their life, journey into the unknown, and develop an understanding of how people have adapted and improved their quality of life. The course requires students to maintain a digital journal as well as a personal journey and provides experiences with project based learning activities.
